*Anne Hergott, B.Mus, B.Ed. ([email protected]) As an elementary music specialist with the Calgary Catholic School Board, Anne realized her dream of teaching children music. Through her eclectic teaching method (Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroze pedagogy- with anything else that inspires interest and develops skill!), Anne incorporated a wide range of music activities with her K-6 students. Wherever possible, Anne also offered extra-curricular Choir, recorder and handbell team opportunities in the schools. Anne’s current passion is encouraging the use of handbells as a learning tool in classroom settings. She is currently the Director of Handbell Choirs at FBC church, and is president of the Alberta Guild of English Handbell Ringers. For the past 3 summers, Anne has maintained and repaired the CSSD handbell and chime school sets. Currently, Anne is also enjoying being on the organizing committee of “Alberta Rings! 2017” (a large bell event here in Calgary on Oct. 13/14). Anne also helps CSSD organize the “Ring and Sing” festival in March of every year.
