Every congregation exists to announce the Kingdom of God to the world.  Jesus rules this Kingdom, and his followers are to demonstrate to everyone what it looks like to live together in this Kingdom.  Our message is a joyful one, because the gospel of Jesus is good news – I have come to announce good news to the poor, freedom to the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, and releasing of the oppressed.  I have come to proclaim the year of God’s favour (Luke 4).   We truly are a people who are called to invite faith  in Jesus Christ.  We are called to act in mercy just as Jesus acted in mercy to all people without discrimination.  We are called to develop disciples because Jesus commanded us to.  Most importantly, we are to demonstrate love and kindness through every thought & action, because Jesus said that such unconditional love defines his Kingdom.

It is not easy to live this way – in fact, it is impossible without the presence of Jesus in our lives.  And it is impossible without the presence of one another, which means that we must be an encouraging people, who pray for and support each other with our lives & spiritual gifts.

We are not always good at this . . .  but we are trying, and invite you to join us in this journey.
