Welcome to First Baptist Church Children’s Ministries Page!
We have Sunday morning programs for all ages of children, from newborns to Grade 12. The Sunday morning church service begins with everyone worshipping together and then just before the sermon begins, the children and junior high youth are dismissed to the West Wing of the church for their classes. Children from ages 0 to 3 go to our Nursery and we are currently refurbishing a larger Preschool Learning area for the 4 – 5 year olds. All elementary school children (ages 6 to 11) are taught in a beautiful new space that features a Cross as its centrepiece – the colours of which speak of the power, purity and depth of God’s great love for us all. The Junior High youth (ages 12 – 15) use a newly upgraded space and are currently studying the Gospel of John.
We have nicknamed these newly upgraded and dedicated classrooms in the West Wing of our 100-year old church building the Jesus Sunday School Zone. That’s because we truly believe that meeting Jesus and walking with Him is a lifelong pursuit because He is the Source of New Life and Living Hope in all our hearts. Every Sunday School worker is personally committed to growing in their love for Jesus and in being His Hands and Feet to help each child learn to hear His Voice and allow their young hearts to be shaped and molded for His Glory alone.
We have committed to creating a spiritual and physical atmosphere that is peaceful, safe, fun, enlightening, welcoming and beautiful in a worshipful manner. Your child will be exposed to a variety of nurturing experiences through the teaching of God’s Word and a variety of activities, healthy snacks, prayer and worship times. First Baptist Church has a rich heritage of talented and godly musicians and we incorporate music-making into many parts of our training. Our prayer and aim is that our church, as a whole, will be a place where wonderful childhood memories are made and hearts are shaped for many, many lifetimes.
FBC Sunday School is being restructured, and we will resume activities on the fall. However, we do have a nursery on Sunday mornings.
